Biological Illustrations

My first experience in biological illustration occurred when I updated the Hendrix College Zoology Lab Manual as an undergraduate. Hoping to improve my PNW-dwelling marine invertebrate skills, I took the Invertebrate Zoology course offered at OIMB. A significant portion of this 8-credit/10-week beast was to keep an extensive laboratory notebook of the critters we observed. The results of me pouring an exorbitant amount of time and energy into pen and paper are shared below. (Apologies for the poor quality of the scans—I was unfamiliar with the scanner I was using at the time.)

OIMB has a lot of fun traditions, but one of my favorites is their quarterly t-shirt contest. I won twice and both of my designs were based on biological illustrations.
